Creating an interesting wall display. Connecting other teachers to music

It is often true in schools that the music department is a world away from the maths or the science department. Although we have the same aims, that we want our students to have a well rounded musical education.
I had the idea to connect the teachers and also the students together through music. I asked each teacher. What is their favourite album and why. Within hours I already had enough answers to fill my back wall.

This also sparked up great discussions between students and teachers, such as "wow, I didn't know you liked that album." "Are you a fan of ........?" It helped students realize that teachers relate to music in the same way they do.

It inspired the students to look up a find out about the music that the teachers liked.

So I made it easy for them.

Pininterst is a great website that allows you to post video, pictures anything interesting that you find on the web.

You can use it as a starting point for students research, or to find musical examples, or educational videos.

In short it started off great conversations with the teachers and fed through and inspired the students.
